Helen Glover MBE

Posted on January 01 2018

Since her Olympic debut at London 2012, Helen Glover has cemented her status as a truly exceptional athlete. Her credentials are outstanding: ranked number one female rower in the world since 2015, two-time Olympic champion, triple world champion, quintuple World Cup champion and triple European champion. Helen and her partner, Heather Stanning, set the Olympic record and won gold for women's coxless pairs at the 2012 home games, a title which they successfully retained at the Rio Olympics in. 2016.

Raised in Penzance, Cornwall, Glover discovered rowing through GB Rowing's talent-development programme, Team Start, in 2008. She was 22, and had never rowed before. Just 4 years later she helped Team GB win their first gold medal at the London Games, the first won by British women in the sport in Olympic history.

In terms of training, Helen is no stranger to double or triple daily workouts. Typically, her days begin with a long paddle on the water, followed by an indoor rowing session, then weights in the gym. When she's not rowing, Helen remains a passionate athlete. From kayaking and running along the beach at her family home in Cornwall, to running marathons and participating in triathlons, the Olympian is always looking for a new challenge.

The team at PRETTY ATHLETIC are delighted to have Helen as our ambassador.

"Pretty Athletic is my gym bag essential. The products are perfect for before and after my workout, and my skin has never looked better".
