Sweaty Betty Live

Posted on September 15 2018

When Sweaty Betty asked for some of our skincare for their Sweaty Betty Live goody bags, of course we couldn't say no! It's one of the most awesome events of the year...

Last Saturday we enjoyed an all-day celebration of the very best of London’s wellness scene, all thanks to Sweaty Betty.  More than a fitness festival, Sweaty Betty Live is a haven for fans of the brand’s ‘work hard, play hard’ ethos. From sweat sessions to sweet treats, the team at Sweaty Betty organised the best workouts, beauty brands and delicious treats all under one roof.

The day was divided in to three sessions —morning, afternoon and evening — each offering visitors access to boutique workouts and exclusive talks, as well as an in-house Sweaty Betty store. Now in its third year, Sweaty Betty Live 2018 was extra special as it marked the brand’s 20th Anniversary, and they went big. Housed within the Old Truman Brewery — which you probably already know if you came to meet us at Balance Festival in May — off Brick Lane, we entered through an archway of balloons to upbeat, pumping music and were greeted by smiling Sweaty Betties.

As a long-term Sweaty Betty fan, I arrived for the evening session in my favourite patterned leggings ready to party. First stop? Food, obviously. After a quick scan around the venue’s enormous main hall, I noticed my favourite Island Poké. Soon it was time for my first ‘sweat session’, an uplifting Dance Cardio class with Frame (who have studios in Shoreditch, Queen’s Park, King’s Cross, Fitzrovia, Hammersmith and Victoria). Thanks to the fantastic instructors and confidence-boosting tunes this felt more like a party than a workout. Next up was Yoga with Pyscle (Mortimer St., Canary Wharf, Shoreditch); 45 minutes of challenging practice that left me feeling stronger and more centred than I’d arrived.

After all this exercise I was ready to explore what else the festival had to offer. I had a quick browse of the Sweaty Betty’s latest collections,  but I was far too sweaty to try anything on. I headed back into the main hall and grabbed a By Chloe cookie and a can of sparkling rosé in honour of the occasion. Before long it was time to leave, but not before picking up the coveted goody bag filled with treats from Sweaty Betty’s favourite brands. This included my very own “I’m a Sweaty Betty” vest, snacks from Pulsin and Bounce Balls and a mini of my favourite Pretty Athletic product, our Workout Glow (which given how much of a Sweaty Betty I truly was, I was beyond relieved to see). And so Sweaty Betty Live finished for another year — I’m already excited for 2019!
